In this post, we will discuss Love and Salvation as the demonstration of God's love for those who are not yet Christians.

Understanding God’s love means knowing who God is. The entirety of His being. It is the simplest and most complete way to identify and describe who God is. The same way we accurately describe who people are by how they look or behave in the same way love defines who God is.

1 John 4:8 (NLT)

“…for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature]”

For the unbeliever, God’s love is straightforward. His Son. The entirety of His love for the unbeliever is His Son. The well-known verse, John 3:16, talks about how God so cherished the world and its people that he gave His Son as an atoning sacrifice. That means that instead of us as born sinners in this world to die and pay the consequences for our sins, Jesus, God’s Son, took our place and paid that price. He took the pain, suffering, and effects of the evil we inherited from birth and gave us His own life in exchange. Now, the truth is that when we accept Him into our lives, we receive His life, and in His life, there is the power to live above sin. God’s love for the unbeliever is on full display through the gift of His Son.

In 1 John 4:9-10, the Bible shows how God showed us how much he loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love – not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Feeling a sense of unworthiness?

“How can someone love me even after all I’ve done and the person I have become?” The truth is no one can ever be worthy of Christ’s love. But he’s given it to us anyway! So, open and accept it. God is in the business of using the most unworthy, unqualified people.

His focus is not on the 99 but on the one lost sheep. And Jesus embodied the same.

We saw it when He selected his disciples, Peter, Andrew, John, and James, who were unlearned fishermen; Matthew belonged to the class of Jewish tax collectors who extorted money from travelers.

The Love of God is not the type derived from emotion. It comes from an unselfish concern for YOU, a willingness to seek the best for YOU, and do everything for YOUR benefit.

Romans 5:10 (NLT)

“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more certain, having been reconciled, that we will be saved [from the consequences of sin] by His life [that is, we will be saved because Christ lives today].”

In conclusion, God loves the worst version of us! His love is more significant than our mistakes, and that love never changes. It is not subject to what we do. It doesn’t grow when we do right or dim when we do wrong. It remains the same for eternity. Romans 5:10 talks about how God loved us when we were still sinners, and how much more joy when we accept His Son.

Want to experience the fullness of that Love?

If you want to be a part of God’s people and become a new person by embodying His love, then say this prayer.

“Heavenly Father, I have come before you today because I acknowledge I have lived in sin and separated from you. I ask that you forgive me and fill me up with your love. I believe in and accept Jesus Christ into my life today, and I ask that from today, you would come and reign in my life and live within me. Help me avoid sin and reveal more of yourself to me every day. Amen!”

If you said that prayer, we would love to keep in touch to encourage you and give you materials to help you grow in this new life.
